July 31, 2010 - Human Biology added to the SSC Index in the Anthropology category
Thomson-Reuters has just informed our Publisher that Human Biology will be added to the Social Sciences Citation Index in the Anthropology category beginning with the first 2009 issue. The change will be reflected in the Social Science Edition in the 2010 JCR.

While future print issues of Human Biology will be in black and white as usual, Authors are now given the option to submit color illustrations that will be included in the electronic version of the Journal. The forfaitary cost per article including color art is 250 USD. To ensure the fastest publication of Human Biology, any unnecessary use of color will be discouraged.
June 24, 2010Impact Factor of “Human Biology” temporarily suppressed
Due to a technical problem, some past issues of Human Biology were not uploaded on the FTP server of Thomson Reuters. Such problem has been identified and fixed and our Impact Factor will appear again in the September 2010 update of the 2009 Journal Citation Reports. June, 11, 2010 - The Gabriel W. Lasker Prize for the best article published in 2009 goes to Dr. Anne Kandler 
Votre navigateur ne gère peut-être pas l'affichage de cette   image.A distinguished international panel of anthropologists composed by Mark Beaumont (UK), Lounes Chikhi (France/Portugal), Pierre Darlu (France), Mark Jobling (UK) and William Leonard (USA.) has selected the article entitled Demography and language competition [Hum. Biol. 81(2-3): 181-210] by Dr. Anne Kandler (University College London, UK). The jury has found that "This is an innovative paper that uses quantitative population analyses to explore language competition and extinction. A fresh look at some important, long standing, questions "  An interview to Dr. Kandler will be published in the 2010 August issue of the Journal.

To make the content of Human Biology as accessible as possible, the Wayne State University Press has recently agreed to publish on this website articles ahead of print. Accepted papers will be in open free access until their official publication as UNCOPYEDITED NOT PROOFREAD PDF files. Direct links to our online vendors (Projet MUSE and BioOne) will replace any freely accessible preprint article after their official publication.
